Description
The 2019 vintage of Château Lafite Rothschild is one of the most outstanding vintages of the winery ever, which is also illustrated by the ratings of the two most respected wine critics in the world. Both James Suckling and Robert Parker Wine Advocate rate the wine from the 1er Grand Cru Classé stronghold of Pauillac with the highest score of 100 points. While the Lafite already shows excellent ageing potential in the standard format (0.75 L.), it offers even better ageing potential as a double magnum (3 L.). In the large format (3L.), Château Lafite Rothschild matures even better than in the standard bottle due to the slower oxidation and enjoys greater demand due to the lower production volume, among other things.
Considering the reference vintage 2015, which was "only" awarded 99/100 points by James Suckling and recorded a five-year performance of 38.16%, investors can also expect future profits from Château Lafite Rothschild 2019. Since release in June 2020, the wine has generated a return of 47.66% and offers a long-term investment horizon based on the ratings from the international trade press and especially in the large format on offer.
Apart from the fact that Château Lafite Rothschild is an ideal investment object, its history allows its own portfolio to shine in royal splendour. For several centuries, Lafite Rothschild has been an integral part of the crème de la crème and has enjoyed great popularity among kings, princes and heads of state. For example, it was already particularly appreciated at the French royal court in the 18th century. After the return of the Maréchal de Richelieu from Bordeaux to Paris, King Louis XV said to him "I am tempted to believe that you are twenty-five years younger than when you left for Guyenne." To which the Maréchal replied "Does not Your Majesty know that I have found the famous Fountain of Youth? I discovered that the wine of Château Lafite is a generous, hearty delicacy and comparable to the ambrosia of the gods of Olympus."
