Cristal is produced in a volume of around 400.000 bottles per vintage, and there is by no means a balance between supply and demand for one of the world's most sought-after Champagnes. Dom Pérignon is the most famous prestige cuvée from Champagne. It is named after the Benedictine monk Dom Pérignon, who was instrumental in refining Champagne to the standard we know today. A typical Dom Pérignon vintage is produced in at least 2 million bottles. Due to the exceptionally strong brand and enormous ongoing consumption, Dom Pérignon is very interesting from an investment perspective. Most people take top Champagne for granted without having any tradition of keeping the precious bottles safe, which makes the supply of perfect mature Dom Pérignon extremely scares and in high demand.
