The founders of De Bethune are David Zanetta, an Italian collector and dealer of art and antique watches, and Denis Flageollet, a fourth-generation watchmaker from France. The history of De Bethune begins with the vision of these two men, who met while working at Techniques Horlogères Appliquées (THA). There, they specialized in creating complicated and high-end movements for brands such as Breguet, Cartier, Franck Muller, and Bucherer.
