Description
The manufacture Audemars Piguet was founded in 1875. The Royal Oak celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022 and is one of the most popular watches in the world.
Audemars Piguet produces a maximum of 40,000 watches per year, with only a fraction of those being Royal Oaks. By comparison, Rolex produces around 1,000,000 watches annually.
The Royal Oak is an exclusive watch that adapts to its owner's lifestyle, not the other way around. While this may seem almost commonplace today, it was not a given in the early 1970s. Although the divide between sporty and elegant watches seemed insurmountable at the time, it was generally customary to eliminate all differences during the cultural change of the era.
The Royal Oak was the first timepiece designed as a high-end sports watch. Since then, it has repeatedly reinvented its stylistic features, leaving its unmistakable mark in every era. 50 years later, the collection comprises more than 500 models, a retrospective of five decades of creative design.
In honor of its groundbreaking debut in 1997, the Royal Oak Chronograph with reference 26331IP, an esteemed symbol of contemporary haute horlogerie, receives a special treatment for its 20th anniversary. This version features an all-titanium case, a two-tone "Grande Tapisserie" dial design, and a polished 950 platinum bezel and links. The watch is equipped with a screw-locked crown, a glareproofed sapphire crystal, and a titanium bracelet with polished 950 platinum links and a titanium AP folding clasp.
