Investment Insights: The Omega Seamaster Summer Blue Collection

2023 marked the 75th anniversary of the legendary Omega Seamaster. Introduced in 1948, the Seamaster Collection quickly became one of the industry's most influential luxury watch collections, at one point even worn by the 007 himself, Mr. James Bond.

To commemorate the Seamaster’s pedigree and celebrate its 75th anniversary, Omega unveiled the Omega Seamaster Summer Blue Collection in 2023. It includes eleven timepieces in a diverse range of styles united by one common thread - the colour blue.

Is the Summer Blue Collection a good option for an investment, though? Let’s find out.

⌚The Omega Seamaster Summer Blue Collection Overview

The Seamaster Summer Blue Collection includes eleven watches:

  1. Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M (38mm & 41mm)

Each watch has a distinct gradient blue dial, with the intensity of the blue representing the depth of water resistance they are designed for.

Key Features of the Omega Seamaster Summer Blue Collection

Watches from the Seamaster Blue Collection offer several distinct features that affect their investment potential. These include:

  • Distinctive blue dials. The hallmark of the collection is its gradient blue dials, which become darker as the water resistance of the watch increases. This creates a visual cue that hints at the watch's performance underwater.

  • Unique design. The Summer Blue theme draws inspiration from the sea, with the gradient blue dials designed to capture the shades of water, from shallow to deep.

  • Heritage and modern design. The collection blends Omega’s historical watchmaking expertise with modern technology. Each model retains the brand’s commitment to precision, durability, and elegance.

  • Special casebacks. The watches feature commemorative casebacks with an engraving of the Seamaster’s original ship logo, celebrating 75 years of the series.

The Omega Seamaster Summer Blue Collection Breakdown

It has a robust 42mm case, a ceramic bezel with a white enamel diving scale, and a laser-engraved wave-patterned dial that shifts from light to deep blue. The watch also features a helium escape valve for professional diving use.
