🚀November 2024: Performance Update

As November wraps up, we’re pleased to present a fresh look at how Splint Invest’s alternative assets performed over the month. This month brought a mix of predictable trends, surprises, and noteworthy exits, underscoring the benefits of a diversified portfolio. The highlight of the month was of course the exit managed by our Expert Artemundi:

🚀Salvador Dalí’s Hidden Faces, 1952, was exited in December 2024 after 1.1 years, achieving a net profit of 12.8% (annualized 12.7%). Splint expert Artemundi has achieved 3 successful exits averaging 14.6% in just 9 months. Simultaneously Artemundi launched the next offering, representing a superb paperwork by the renowned artist Joan Miró.

While art led gains at +1.3%, with strong YTD growth at +12.8%, sport cards continued their rally, bolstered by auction records. In contrast, diamonds faced demand challenges, declining -4.5%, and precious metals dipped after stellar gains in October but retained a robust +5.2% YTD. The wine market remains tricky, with no meaningful demand increases, while watches showed signs of recovery as standard models experienced slight price upticks, hinting at a potential turnaround.

🎨 Art (+1.3%): Art remains a cornerstone of Splint’s portfolio, consistently delivering returns. The standout this month was Fika Leon’s Study of Face 3 and 4, up an impressive +9.50%, thanks to a strategic purchase at 25% below gallery prices.

👟 Sneakers (+0.7%): The sneakers category continued its strong showing. The Nike SB Dunk Low – What The Dunk led gains with a surge of +8.96%, driven by competitive purchase pricing below market rates.

🥃 Whisky Casks & Bottles (+0.7% and +0.6%): The holiday season fueled steady gains in the whisky category. The Macallan Mizunara whisky bottles, released in November 2024 rose +4.15%, reflecting Splint’s skill in identifying below-market opportunities. Whisky casks like Craigellachie 15YO climbed +1.02%.
